London Events in June

It’s officially summer! I’m sure all Londoners and London visitors are wondering what the best things are to do in the city this summer.

June is around the corner (where have the last 6 months gone, seriously?!), where London turns in to a hedonistic playground of non-stop fun. Events, shows, gigs and new venues will be popping up left, right and center, so much that your head will be spinning until you’re blue in the face.

Blue faces aren’t very pretty, so let me do the work for you!

You see I don’t get off my boat until the end of June (the joys of offshore life), so I’ll be missing out on ALL these fantastic events.

Somehow this still doesn’t stop me from reading and getting excited about it all, so I thought I’d compile a list of cool things that I’d definitely go to, if I could, but I can’t, so you’ll just have to go for me!

Day & Night at the Loft Studios
An event-planning company called Design My Night always keeps me in the know of where to be and what to see in London. They always describe things to do that are alluring and tempting as ever, think a Disappearing Dining Club and Midsummer Madness, hosted in secret locations. I just love the mystery!
On the 7th June, the The Yacht Week and Real Nice are combining forces to host an outdoor courtyard party. There’ll be food, cocktails, art and house music going on until the small hours of the morning.
The venue looks very ‘urban cool’ and I can’t think of a better place to catch up with friends on a Saturday than this one!

When? 7th June
Where? Loft House
Time? 4pm-2am
Cost? £20.
Address? 77-81 Scrubs Lane, London, NW10 6QU

Ginstock
All gin-lovers rejoice! An event called Ginstock hosted by tweatup is taking place on the 14th June – world gin day! What better way is there than to spend your Saturday outdoors in the summer-sunshine, quenching your thirst with gin-based concoctions made my top-class bartenders. Not only that, you’ll be entertained by live music, food stalls, beer and more gin! If only I could just abandon ship and swim to shore..

When? 14th June
Where? Dalston Yard
Time? 11am – 4.30pm
Cost? £36
Address? Hartwell Street, London, E8 3DU

Junipalooza
So if you haven’t had enough gin (you can never have enough gin), there’s another 3-day gin-based show called Junipalooza hosted by Ginfoundry. It’s worth checking this out just for the name, surely? You can even try making your own gin at their masterclass. Lovethatmag state it’s the ‘UK’s biggest ever festival solely dedicated to gin’.

Where? Factory 7
Time? 12pm – 6pm

Boxpark
Unless you have your eyes and ears taped shut and have been living under a rock, you’ll be aware of the approaching World Cup in Brazil! (It begins June 12th). Boxpark is a pop-up venue in trendy Shoreditch, where you can go to watch the games live.

Summer Fling
The luxurious Kensington Roof Gardens presents Summer Fling, involving an al fresco BBQ, fine cocktails and live entertainment. It sounds like my ideal summer evening. You can check out the event through the Late Night Cocktail Club.

LIFT Festival
The London International Festival of Theatre will be showcasing their talent all over London, from the streets to venues like the Barbican and Southbank Centre. One show that I’m gutted to miss is called Crackz. I love anything to do with dance, especially when it comes to watching street/hip-hop performances. And this one looks awesome. As part of the LIFT festival, this brazilian dance group will be ‘reinventing’ street-dance as we know it. Intriguing!

When? 3-4th June
Where? Sadler’s Wells Theatre
Time? 7.30pm
Cost? £12, £20, £27
Address? Rosebery Avenue, London, EC1R 4TN

Dining
I worked with Momondo to find a unique and quirky restaurant to check out. Can you imagine dining-out in the pitch dark? They suggested a restaurant called Dans Le Noir, which takes you through a unique and exciting experience as you eat your 3-course meal in total darkness, with the help of blind guides. It’s meant to heighten your sense of taste and smell. I can’t wait to check it out and will be writing a post on my experience of it soon!

Let me know if you get the chance to go to any events and what you think, I’d love to hear all about it :).
