Would you like to take a trip to Las Vegas and not feel the need to destroy all evidence after the fact? Actually, there are plenty of fun, wholesome activities you can enjoy in Sin City. As well as the tips from my previous post, What Happens in Vegas, Stays in Vegas, check out Kendra Thornton‘s advice, somewhere she enjoys taking her family on occasion.
1. Have Fun Learning
Foodies and wine lovers can have a blast in Las Vegas. My friends and I once took a Sommelier wine class. We learned a lot and had a great time. Other cooking and beverage classes are available as well. At the Monte Carlo, guests can participate in a two-hour mixology training and tasting class. For most of these events, class size is limited, so be sure to book in advance.
2. Explore the Desert
With all of the opulence and luxury available in Las Vegas, it’s easy to forget that the city sits in the middle of a desert. That desert, however, features some stunning vistas so head out of town for a photo op with Pink Jeep Tours. They’ll pick you up at your hotel, and you can choose from several different tours of local scenic spots. One of the most popular includes a day trip to the Grand Canyon.
3. Play with the Dolphins
Just because you’re in the desert doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy the marine life at Siegfried and Roy’s Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat. Located at The Mirage on the strip, this attraction has plenty of fun for animal lovers to enjoy. Guests can participate in their Trainer for a Day Program, which allows you to interact with a family of dolphins. My family learned so much here! We all felt like marine biologists by the end of the day.
4. Visit the City’s Museums
Las Vegas has some fun, quirky museums. My kids enjoy the interactive exhibits at the Discovery Children’s Museum. The entire family has fun visiting the National Atomic Testing Museum, located only 65 miles from a real test site. My personal favorite is the Neon Museum. This outdoor attraction tells the city’s story in lights. Visitors can wander along paths while taking in the exhibits.
Whatever you enjoy seeing or doing, Las Vegas has something for you. I love this city for its diversity, activities and wonderful hotels. With so many activities, sites like Gogobot make it easy to read user reviews. Once you visit, you’ll want to come back again and again.
I shall always regret not going there before they dismantled the Star Trek hotel!
I lived in Las Vegas for 5 years and went to many of these things. Great post!
Great post! I can’t wait until I visit now!
Nice post! I’ve been really wanting to visit Vegas for years but somehow haven’t gotten there yet! My mom, however has been there three times!! So not fair!! On her last trip she and her friend took a day trip out to the Hoover Dam. There seems to be so much to do, not only IN Vegas, but in the surrounding areas too!
