If you’re looking for a modern, stylish hotel in Koh Samui, Thailand, then look no further than The Library Boutique Hotel.
I stayed here on a wedding-resort hunt with my sister. It was such a fun trip and staying in this hotel made it just that bit more special.
Hidden away down a private street just off the hustle and bustle of the island’s main party spot, is this gorgeous boutique hotel (also a member of Design Hotels group) on Chaweng Beach.
The design is minimalist and elegant, making you feel like you’ve stepped in to a secret garden as you walk through its giant, stone entrance.
It was the red pool that did it for me. I love how simple yet eye-popping it is. We spent quite a lot of time here. It’s not such a bad place to spent hours eating, sunbathing and lazing around in!
It’s worth coming here just for the food and cocktails. The breakfast bar was so cute with fresh juices, yogurts, cereals and milk in tiny jars.
You can even order ‘Breakfast on the Beach’, where your food gets delivered on a little table straight to your beach chair. That beats breakfast in bed in my eyes!
The tropical fruit waffles were a great start to the morning..
I mostly went for the healthy option of vegetable fried rice. I must admit the street-food fried rice is way tastier (and cheaper) but I was happy to see it on the menu anyway.
The hotel is pretty unique in that the main lobby, gym, restaurant and villas are all named after book terms – The Page, Index etc. It’s brilliant!
Our villa was called Page 6. A huge villa with clean, simple, white decor. All the villas line up along the main boardwalk towards the dramatic looking red pool.
I love the little white men dotted around the grounds too. All buried in a book.
There’s a glass library next to the pool where you can rent books and dvd’s to watch in your villa. It’s such an original idea that we all appreciated after a busy day scouting wedding venues!
Our last day here was spent relaxing on the beach just steps away from the pool, eating a feast of tapas and sipping on cocktails until the small hours of the night.
I can’t resist the challenge of scooping up every last bit of coconut flesh after slurping up all the juice. I wonder what the healthy limit is of coconuts consumed in one day…
Our feast was a delicious mix of pastrami and breadsticks, cheese balls, nachos and sushi.
And what a perfect place to spend a food coma, listening to live music and ordering cocktails on the soft sand.
I got a pretty good deal on the hotel through Tablet.
Have you ever been to The Library Boutique Hotel? I’d love to know what you thought about it!
Wow! I agree, that red pool is absolutely stunning and makes unforgettable photos.
Now I really want to go there!!!
It is isn’t it! I hope you get to go 🙂
