After all the “hard work” of searching for the perfect wedding resort, we decided to treat ourselves in Bangkok to an evening amongst the clouds, overlooking the city’s glittering nightlife at Vertigo and Moon Bar, Bangkok.
I’d heard all about the rooftop restaurant and bar at the top of the luxurious Banyan Tree Hotel, so couldn’t wait to check it out for myself.
It’s an absolutely stunning, open-air dining experience, 61 foors above the city. The place completely blew me away.
It felt like a hedonist’s secluded hang-out, complete with breathtaking, 360-views, a well-heeled crowd and delicious martinis. As one magazine put it, it’s like being aboard a spaceship in the sky with it’s unusual, elongated shape.
What a view! There really couldn’t be a more romantic place to dine than this…We eagerly made our way through the dining area (taking mental note to book reservations one day), towards the raised bar, where the blue UV lights and catchy house music made the atmosphere all the more seducing.
Since this bar is up there with the best rooftop bars in Bangkok, unfortunately there were quite a lot of tourists, almost forming a queue to get there photo with the sweeping panoramic view behind them.
(Of course I couldn’t help but join in too, always keen for a photo-op!).
And I couldn’t leave without getting a snap with my partner in crime. We sipped on (I must admit over-priced) cocktails, chatting non-stop as we bounced back plans for the big wedding day.
With the warm breeze brushing past my skin, my favourite person next to me, I was completely over the moon (geddit?) as we admired Bangkok city lights below.
The perfect way to end a trip in Thailand!
Definitely touristy, but a great stop if this was your first time hanging out about Bangkok’s skyline!
Yes I agree!
